Nth numbers (Part I)

Hola!

Today we are going to start the nth numbers.  In Grammar we call these numbers as the ordinal numbers.

We have already studied the cardinal numbers (one, two, three) that are regularly use for counting or as adjectives both in Spanish and English:

ONE BOOK
(UN LIBRO)

            THREE HOUSES
(TRES CASAS)

There’s also another group of numbers known as the ordinal numbers.
Ordinal numbers are used to indicate the order of something: first, second, third, etc.

In English you just have to add a th to the ordinal numbers after the second and that’s it.  In Spanish, the rule it’s slightly more complicated and you’ll have to memorize the first ten.

That’s what we are going to do today:

SPANISH
ENGLISH
PRIMERO
FIRST
SEGUNDO
SECOND
TERCERO
THIRD
CUARTO
FORTH
QUINTO
FIFTH
SEXTO
SIXTH
