Sustantivos

Hola

Today we are going to study male and female nouns.

In Spanish a noun could be male or female.  Generally male nouns in Spanish end up with an o and female nouns end up with an a.  You can practice and keep on using the Spanish nouns to start learning whether they are male or female nouns.

Here there are some examples:

El libro
(The Book)

Un pañuelo
(A handkerchief)

La mujer
(The woman)

Una ensalada
(A salad)

For the plural forms you just have to add an s or 'es' when it ends with a

Los libros
(The Books)

Unos pañuelos
(Some handkerchiefs)

Las mujeres
(The women)

Unas ensaladas
(Some salads)

That’s it.  Keep on practicing French nouns and their genre.
